Breezes From the Beach

For the first time in my ministry, I am taking more than just a few days off in a row. I am currently enjoying some time with my family at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We have really enjoyed the change of pace from our day to day routine. It has given us some time to clear our minds and focus on some things that are easily overlooked. I watched my girls today in the ocean and could hardly believe how fast they have grown. As I watched a young couple feed their small child baby food under an umbrella, my mind drifted back to the days when Angie and I were the ones feeding our children in the same way. Now they are both so independent and able to take care of themselves. However, they will always be my babies, no matter how old they are.

As I spend some time away from my ministry, I am seeking God's guidance for my family and for the future of Spring Creek Baptist Church. Angie and I love our church with all of our heart. We are convinced that God has great plans for our church. We are seeking His guidance in allowing us to hear Him clearly as He guides our hearts. As the breeze blows in off the ocean waters, may the fresh wind of the Holy Spirit arrest our hearts to follow God's holy agenda. My prayer is that Spring Creek will witness the awesome activity of God upon the heart of their pastor when I return to the pulpit on July 11th. 21 days without preaching are going to be super difficult, but I am convinced that God has much to say to me and I need to get still before Him in order to hear His voice.

We serve an awesome Lord! To God be all the Glory!
